Paternity Test Proves School Counselor Impregnated 16 y.o. Student

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

According to KoloTV; A Reno, NV middle school counselor has been fired, for fathering the child of one of his students.

Daniel Bryant, an O’Brien Middle School counselor was fired Monday for getting one of his former students pregnant. The Washoe County School District delivered 38-year-old Daniel Bryant a formal letter of termination, demanding that he never work in our public school system again.

19-year-old Cassi Chambers now attends Hug High School while she takes care of her five-month-old baby, Paige.

When she met Dan Bryant, she was just 16. Cassi was at attending Vaughn Middle School at that time, and Bryant was supposed to be her guidance counselor.

Cassi gave birth to her daughter, Paige late last year. A paternity test has proven that her former middle school counselor, Dan Bryant is the father.

According to Cassi, the relationship with Bryant began three years ago. She says, after being sexually assaulted by a family member for over a year, she turned to Bryant for help, saying she had no one else. Several months later, they began a sexual relationship.

“He knew everything that happened to me. He knew the grisly details of what this man had done to me. It was brutal. He knew that and used it to take advantage of me. The first chance he got, he took it,” said Cassi.

Bryant took legal guardianship of Cassi after hearing about her difficult life at home. She says he gave her alcohol, consoled her, and told her he loved her.

“He’s kind of like the snake that got Eve to eat the apple. He is conniving and manipulative and he’ll say anything or do anything to make you think he cares about you,” said Cassi.

Bryant later transferred to O’Brien Middle School, where he had one-on-one contact with students weekly. The Washoe County School District got wind of the affair and the pregnant student in late November.

Superintendent Paul Dugan says he placed Bryant on administrative leave while an investigation took place. Once the paternity test was conclusive, Dugan says he made the decision to fire Bryant for good.

“We ask parents to put their children under our responsibility. 99 % of the time, we do a great job. This individual made a major mistake, one that is inexcusable and indefensible,” said Dugan

Dugan says the decision was easy, and Bryant has possibly tainted the role of a middle school school counselor.

“I feel angry this individual ever worked with Washoe County School District for even one day,” he added.

Cassi plans to graduate this year. She says her daughter, Paige won’t have contact with her father, but she is hoping for child support. She says the district’s decision to fire Bryant was the right one.

“I’m afraid that if he continues to have contact with students in the school district, he’s going to find another vulnerable girl like me and that he’s going to get one of them too,” she said.

Dugan says if he has anything to do with it, Bryant will never work in the Washoe County School District again. The district is also asking the state to pull Bryant’s Nevada teaching license, meaning he can’t get a job in any of our state schools.

Bryant can appeal either of these decisions with an outside arbitrator, but Dugan says the chances of overturning the termination is unlikely.

The school police forwarded the case onto the Washoe County District Attorney. Once reviewed, the DA will have to decide whether or not to press charges.

We placed three calls to Mr. Bryant, but he has not returned our messages, thus far.

Tom Cruise Fuming Over Paternity Claims

Monday, January 28th, 2008

As reported by SFGate:Daily Dish from the World Entertainment News Network:

Tom Cruise is furious that a new unauthorized biography of him suggests his daughter Suri was fathered by late Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Andrew Morton’s book “Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography” makes a number of controversial claims about the actor’s personal life and his relationship with the Church of Scientology.

He alleges Scientology bosses urged him to end his marriage to Nicole Kidman, and one chapter includes the passage, “Some sect members believed that Katie Holmes was carrying the baby who would be the vessel for L. Ron Hubbard’s spirit when he returned around the galaxy.”

Cruise’s lawyer Bert Fields says, “He’s very angry. It’s so bizarre and grotesque to imply that Suri is fathered by the frozen sperm of L. Ron Hubbard. You just look at Suri, and you see Tom and Katie.”

Michael Jordan scores another court win over ex-lover

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

As reported in the Chicago Daily Tribune, a state Appellate Court ruled in favor of Michael Jordan in his dispute with former lover, Karla Knafel who contends that the retired superstar owes her $5 million.

Knafel contends that Jordan promised her the money for remaining silent and agreeing not to file a paternity suit after she learned she was pregnant in 1991.

Jordan denied making the promise and sued Knafel in 2002. A DNA Paternity test later showed that Jordan was not the father of the child.

The 1st District Appellate Court in Chicago ruled that even if Jordan made the agreement, the deal was unenforceable because Knafel had misled him about whether he was the child’s father. The ruling affirmed a trial judge’s decision last year.

Knafel’s lawyer Blake Hannafan said Wednesday that he was surprised by the decision and will ask the Illinois Supreme Court to review the case.

When My Boyfriend Began Using Drugs I Was Thankful That He Was Not the Father

ONE CUSTOMER’S STORY - name and details changed for privacy

Janice and Tom had been going together on and off for a few years. When Janice gave birth to a son, whom she named him Brent, Tom moved in with her. Tom was a good father to Brent and according to Janice, things were going well.

But then Tom began getting into drugs. Eventually, he lost his job and became depressed. As things got worse, Janice began to worry about Brent’s safety, especially because Tom would sometimes take Brent out for a drive, and Janice couldn’t always tell if Tom was loaded. Tom also began to bring some new “friends” to the house that made Janice uncomfortable.

To escape Tom and the craziness that had become his life, Janice took Brent and moved in with her sister. When Tom came around to see Brent, Janice felt torn because she did want Brent to continue to have a relationship with Tom. But Brent’s safety was her main concern and she no longer felt that she could trust Tom; he just wasn’t the same man any more.

Finally, Janice told Tom that he wasn’t Brent’s real father and that she didn’t want him to come around anymore. Tom became angry with Janice and told her that he didn’t believe her and as Brent’s father, he had the right to continue to see him.

In the end, it was a DNA Paternity Test that convinced Tom that he really didn’t have any legal rights to see Brent. Amazingly, it was the loss of Brent that finally changed the direction of Tom’s downward spiral into drug abuse. He so wanted to continue to see the boy that he got himself into recovery.

We don’t know the end of this story, because after the DNA test we were no longer involved. But we are satisfied that we provided some help.

TV’s Dirty Sexy Money and DNA Paternity Testing

Friday, October 26th, 2007

On Dirty, Sexy, Money, we learned that one of the Darling children may not be Tripp’s. Last week we got a clue that it may be Brian, but this week the twins were implicated when Mr. Darling made a point of the fact they they were very different from one another.

Tripp blackmailed his long time friend and doctor into performing a secret DNA Paternity Test and requested that he tell him which child is not his. “Tomorrow would be good”, he said.

Those in the Paternity Testing industry got a chuckle out of that one! It seemed unlikely that the Darling’s doctor had kept tissue samples of each of their children handy in case a DNA test was ever requested. Even with today’s advanced technology, getting the tests completed in that time frame was asking a bit much, to say the least.

Viewers will all be on the edges of their seats wondering which one of the Darling children is not Tripp’s. Of course Dirty, Sexy, Money may simply be playing with us. I guess we will have to watch to find out.
